Volunteers
Meal trains, supply drives, event help, errands. No long-term commitment, no special skills. Just people willing to show up.

Welcome to
Becoming Kin is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit building a volunteer network to walk alongside families through the realities of foster care and adoption. We're launching in 2026 — and we'd love your help.
Becoming Kin is in its founding phase in 2026. We're recruiting first volunteers, connecting with case managers, and inviting businesses to join as founding donors.
The work hasn't started yet — the people who help build it now are who make it real. Be part of something from its first day.
Meal trains, supply drives, event help, errands. No long-term commitment, no special skills. Just people willing to show up.
Learn how it worksShare what families on your caseload actually need. Your insight shapes how we show up when we launch.
Refer a familyBe one of our founding donors. Goods, services, or in-kind support that gives families access to what they wouldn't otherwise have.
Become a founding donorCase managers know what's missing. We listen, document, and turn those needs into projects.
Real people doing tangible things: meal trains, supply runs, birthday celebrations, welcome kits.
Local businesses provide goods and services that volunteers coordinate. Donations go directly to families, not overhead.
"When families are supported, children thrive."
— Becoming Kin
These are our 2026 goals — aspirational targets we're working toward, not achievements we've already reached.
We'll host gatherings that build real relationships between volunteers and families — not just one-time deliveries.
Practical help when it matters most: welcome kits for new placements, birthday celebrations, meal trains, school supplies.
A growing community of people who want to show up for families in Southern California.
Events will be announced as we launch. Subscribe to our mailing list to be the first to know.
